Lindegården lies 6 km south-east of Silkeborg, in the heart of Denmark's Lake District, between the Gudenå, Julsø and the great beech forests. The farm dates from the 1890s, and the farmhouse, the barn and the old stables still stand around the cobbled courtyard.
The Lind family took over the farm in 1987. Today Mette and Anders run it with their two grown-up children, five horses, a flock of hens and three beehives. We grow vegetables and berries in the kitchen garden, and most of what goes on the breakfast table comes from the farm or from our neighbours.
We live here ourselves, so you'll meet us in the stables, by the hen house and over breakfast. This isn't hotel service – it's a working farm with an everyday rhythm we're glad to share with you.
In spring the rapeseed fields are in flower, in summer there's swimming in the lakes, and in autumn the woods turn golden. We're open all year and happy to suggest outings and places to eat nearby.

About us
We've lived and worked at Lindegården, 6 km south-east of Silkeborg, since 1987.

Accommodation
In the farmhouse we've created four guest rooms, each with its own bathroom. Breakfast is included: eggs from our hens, home-baked bread and honey from our own hives.
The old barn is home to the holiday apartment for up to six, with a kitchen, balcony and lake views. It's ideal for families and longer stays – the children can help with the horses and collect eggs.
On the farm
Everything runs at the farm's pace, and much of it is free for guests.
Every morning we serve eggs from our hens, home-baked bread and honey from our own hives. Breakfast is included with the guest rooms.
Our farm shop sells eggs, seasonal vegetables, honey and jam from the farm. It's self-service and open every day in season.
Our calm horses are used to beginners, and we take guests out for a ride in the paddock or along the farm tracks. Rides are arranged the day before over breakfast.
Children and adults can help with feeding the horses and hens, collecting eggs and grooming. It's free for guests and happens every morning and afternoon.
After a day outdoors, warm up in the wood-fired barrel sauna, then gather round the fire pit with campfire bread and views across the fields.
We lend bikes free of charge and have maps of routes along the Gudenå, around Julsø and up to Himmelbjerget. The woods start a few hundred metres from the farm.
