Lindegården lies in the heart of Denmark's Lake District, and the landscape is as much a part of your stay as the rooms. Two kilometres away the Silkeborg forests begin, with great beech woods, walking trails and mountain-bike routes. Borrow a bike at the farm and you'll be among the trees in five minutes.
The Gudenå, Denmark's longest river, is 5 km away, an eight-minute drive. You can hire a canoe or walk along the water. Himmelbjerget and Julsø are 12 km away, about 15 minutes by car, and the view over the wooded hills is worth packing a flask of coffee for.
If you have children with you, there's plenty to do nearby too. AQUA Akvarium & Dyrepark, with its otters and beavers, is 5 km away, and in Silkeborg, 7 km and 12 minutes from here, you'll find Museum Jorn and Museum Silkeborg, home of the Tollund Man. In summer the paddle steamer Hjejlen sails from town towards Himmelbjerget.

The forest
In spring the rapeseed fields bloom, in summer there's swimming in the lakes, and in autumn the woods turn golden. Whatever the season, there's an outing to be had.
The bikes are ready and waiting at the farm. It's 2 km to the Silkeborg forests, about 5 minutes by bike. Afterwards, relax by the fire pit or in the barrel sauna.
